OUR MISSION

ByLaws Mission & Goals

ARTICLE II: OBJECTIVES & Principal Purpose of Organization:

The primary purpose of the club is to promote, facilitate and teach firearm safety and responsible gun ownership.


The club objectives are to establish and maintain a permanent organization, for the benefit of its membership and the public to promote the elements of amateur shooting sports and wildlife conservation. To promote youth training and development, marksmanship, safe handling, and responsible ownership of firearms. To support Olympic national competitions and training of other groups such as Boy/Girl Scouts, 4-H, Project Appleseed, women, and bullseye leagues. To assist law enforcement and first responder training at our range, teach adult self-defense and state firearm law.


The club will also support local charities including food pantries, Christmas fundraising for needy children, and at-risk youth programs. It shall be our further object and purpose to forward the development of the characteristics of honesty, good fellowship, self-discipline, team play and self-reliance which are essentials of good sportsmanship and the foundations of true patriotism. To further these objectives, the organization will operate and maintain rifle, pistol, and shotgun firing range(s), owned, rented, or constructed, for the use and benefit of the Club’s members.


The Newberry Pistol Club will not discriminate by race, religion, creed, denomination, political affiliation, disability, or sex.
